The Convention: Housekeeping

1 / How long will the event be?

The convention will begin on July 12th, 2024, and end on July 14th, 2024, so it’s a 3-day online convention.

2 / What kind of dramas will be in the convention?

The online convention is for all East Asian Dramas, focusing on Korean, Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Taiwanese, Filipino, and Hong Kong.

3 / Is this only going to be on discord?

TBA, based on final attendance.

4 / Where will it be held?

A new discord server will be created for the sole use of the convention. The convention will be primarily based out of this new discord server.

5 / What if I can’t make it for the whole convention?

You don't have to attend everyday or be online for all 72 hours–attend when it's best for you and have fun with us!

6 / Do I need to participate or can I just listen in?

Most panels will be discussion-based, which means it's more fun the more you participate. However, no one is required to speak. You can certainly just listen if that's your preference.

The Convention: Privacy, Safety, and Accessibility

1 / How can you guarantee the safety and privacy of attendees?

We will have rules in place that will ask others not to reveal others personal information without permission. All communications between members and ConComm will be kept private.

ConComm will never ask you for your credit card information or other payment information. Additionally, ConComm will not reveal any personal information of any of its attendees or ConComm.

If you get any communication from someone claiming to be from the ConComm asking for any financial information, Do not give out any information, and please reach out to us.

All attendees will be able to contact the ConComm throughout the con to report unsafe behavior from other attendees, which will be taken seriously.

2 / Where do I go to report unsafe interactions?

You can contact any of the ConComm or email asiandramacon@gmail.com during the con to report unsafe behavior.

3 / Where can I find rules and expectations of behavior while at the con?

They will be listed in the server rules when you first enter the con server.

4 / Can we speak in other languages besides English?

You can, but know that the ConComm operates primarily in English and does not guarantee that we can mediate disputes that occur in other languages.

5 / Will there be NSFW programming or is this only SFW?

In your registration, you will need to specify how old you will be at the time of the convention. If you will be 18 or older, you can have access to the 18+ role, which will give access to 18+ hangout spaces. However, the majority of programming will be SFW.

6 / What’s the policy on usage of swear words?

While swearing is not strictly prohibited, slurs of any sort are. Attendees are asked to use discretion when using adult language and keep in mind that attendees may be as young as 13 and come from all cultural backgrounds.

7 / What kind of accessibility is available?

Unfortunately, we are not able to offer captioning or sign language interpreters at this time.

8 / What if I don’t want to provide my email to register?

Your email address is how you will receive the link to the con server, so without your email, you will be unable to participate in the convention.

The Convention: Events & Activities

1 / What are panels?

Panels are 50-minute discussions, led by one or more moderators, on a specific drama-related topic.

2 / Will I get to see my favorite actor or podcaster at the convention?

Up All Night is an entirely fan-produced convention, which means it's organized, run, and moderated by us, the fans! You decide the discussion topics, and you get the opportunity to moderate through volunteering. We chose not to invite special guests because we want the atmosphere at the convention to be about sharing love for dramas with each other, not focusing on a specific few individuals.

3 / Will there be panels in multiple languages?

The con is based primarily in English and all panels will use English as the primary language.

4 / Are the panels drop in, or do I have to register for specific panels?

All panels will be pre-scheduled, but you do not need to register for panels ahead of time. The schedule of panels will be posted early next spring.

5 / I want to moderate a panel on a specific topic, how would I sign up to do so?

Panels will be determined based on a vote by registered attendees. You can volunteer to moderate a panel via the second survey, which will be sent Nov. 10th, 2023. However, we do not guarantee that volunteering assures being selected to moderate, depending on the number of volunteers for a given panel.

6 / How will panels be announced?

Panels will be announced when the schedule is released in early spring of 2024.

7 / Will there be prizes?

There will be prizes given on each day to winners of various games.

8 / Will there be any merch for the con? Where can I purchase it?

Yes, you may purchase any con merchandise at our Redbubble shop. All proceeds go towards supporting the con, and are not for profit. link
